Well, we had our first car show of the season this past weekend our “Valley Chrome & Wheel” Car show at the MTA Event Center and Ice Rink in downtown Palmer. The weather was a little all over the place but we didn’t have snow. High winds on Friday but the people still came out. We really had a pretty big turnout Friday considering it was a half day and the wind. Saturday the wind calmed, and the sun came out, some, in the afternoon for our “Day Trippin” lot. We had around 8 vehicles that showed up for that. Sunday was really busy. We had a large crowd again Sunday and the breeze didn’t start to blow until the end so we were able to get the vehicles out and the arena cleaned up in record time. We counted 1,925 ballots which means we had another year of around 1,000 people attending our show. Showing that the weather doesn’t stop those of us who are ready to get out and start the summer. We also gave away 15 trophies to winners.
RC Detailing had a drawing for those who had vehicles entered in the show of three $250.00 detailing certificates.
Exquisite Urban Tastes was the food truck that came to feed the people and we had our sponsored organizations “Paws for Purple Hearts” and The 98 Fund Alaska Project there to tell people about their organizations and what they all do for our military veterans and Alaska’s Gold Star Families. And as always Alaska Raceway Park had a table set up to keep us informed on everything they do all summer for us and the racing community.
