VW Car Show Diamond Center Post author:admin Post published:May 26, 2021 Post category:Events Don’t have all the particulars at this time will add as I know something. You Might Also Like We had our annual car show at O’Reilly Auto Parts Wasilla yesterday. Nice weather overcast at times where it looked like it may rain but we dodged it. On the windy side and the jackets kept coming on and off as the sun came and went. Alaska’s Best Gourmet Dog’s was the food truck. It was their first time at one of our shows and they seemed to be a success. Look forward to having them at more of our shows. We had a good turnout. We had 36 vehicles registered and of course there are always those that come and go and don’t stop to register. We had several new vehicles to our shows too. Big turnout of spectators as well so all in all a good show. 3rd Place People’s Choice 1081 Deloren, 2nd Place People’s Choice 1973 Chevy Camaro, 1st Place People’s Choice 1965 Shelby. Managers Choice 1968 Camaro RS. May 21, 2023 Klassic Kruz & Swap Meet 2023. Had a nice car show and swap meet Saturday at Alaska Raceway Park for our Klassic Kruz. We had around 40 vehicles show up but only 24 registered. I stood up on the tower and took pictures and counted 35 cars and saw several others come in later. Swap meet wise I was very happy with the turn out. We had probably around 7 people set up to sell parts so that wasn’t too bad for our first time. I have been to smaller ones in Alaska. “Exquisite Urban Tastes” was the food truck at the show. It was very windy. Sunny but windy and cars seemed to come and go. We shut down a little early and gave out the trophies at around 3:30 because so many had already left. Remember unless you ask someone to accept your trophy for you, you must be present to win. Saturdays Winners were 3rd Place People’s Choice 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk, 2nd Place People’s Choice 1966 Chevelle and 1st Place People’s Choice 1965 El Camino. May 17, 2023 Well, folks as the weekend comes to a close so does the first car show of the season the “Valley Chrome & Wheel” show at the MTA Event Center and Ice Rink. It sure was a great show. If I do say so my self one of our best. We started out with 55 vehicles registered, 8 had to drop out and they were replaced with 7 more so we ended up with 54 final count. I can’t tell you the final count of those who came through our show yet but I had printed up 1,000 ballots for the weekend, printed 500 more on Saturday night and Sunday we ran out and started using post it notes and gave out a pad and a half of those. So, there were a lot of people. Our two Food Trucks scheduled showed up “Mamaw and Pops Hillbilly Cooking” and “Exquisite Urban Tastes” so we had plenty of good food for those who were hungry. The City of Palmer besides giving us a grant to use the building for our show put us on the shuttle line so people could stop by and check us out on their way to the Air Show and other activities going on in Downtown Palmer the weekend. I want to thank everyone who made this show possible from those who worked tirelessly at it and their poor spouses and partners who coped with us while we did down to the guys who swept the parking lot so gravel didn’t hit our beautiful rides driving in and out. We thank you, thank you, thank you. Here are some pictures of the winners.
