What a weekend. We had a fantastic 3-day car show this past weekend. Our “Valley Chrome & Wheel” Car Show at the MTA Event Center and Ice Rink in downtown Palmer. The weather was gorgeous, and we had a great turnout. Over a thousand people attended again this year. We had over 70 vehicles both inside and in our outside Saturday afternoon “Day Trippin” lot, show off their automotive beauty. We had some real lookers enter. Exquisite Urban Taste Food Truck was there to keep the people happy and fed with their delicious food. Alaska Raceway Park was there to help support us as they always do. RC Detailing gave those who entered a vehicle a discount on a wash and hand wax for their entries. And the City of Palmer ran their shuttle bus again this year between the Air Show and other events in Palmer to help the people get around to all that was happening the weekend. We gave out 12 class trophies, the Mayor of Palmer Steve Carrington presented the Mayor’s trophy and we had the overall favorite People’s Choice award. There were a lot of close votes down to one or two votes for a class, so everyone’s support made a big difference.

Antique-1938 Chevy, Classic Car-1968 Mustang California Special, Classic Truck-1955 Chevy Pick Up, Custom Car 1957 Ranchero, Custom Truck-1979 Ford F-150 4X4, Muscle Car-1969 Camaro, Import-2005 Ferrari, Rods-1935 Plymouth, Sports Car-1963 Corvette Split Window, Survivor-1955 Desoto, Orphan-1955 Nash “Pinkie”, and Work in Progress-1974 Super Beetle Convertible “Petunia”. The Mayor’s pick was a 1937 Diamond T 210 Pickup. The People’s Choice was a 1972 Chevy Cheyanne Super.
