It was a nice event, but the rain put a little damper on everything. The event was from 10 – 4 and the car show ran from 11 – 3. Since it rained all day and not just overcast but rained the Senior center moved all the vendors into the dinning room and we were lucky to be able to stay warm and dry in the bad weather. Since it was raining we only had 10 vehicles attend. I don’t know why but for some reason I never got a picture of the cars in a line out side. Never entered my mind until I got home and was unloading the car. The cars that showed up were a 1969 Corvette, 1974 VW, 1969 el Camino, 51 Chevy, 21 Nissan, 99 Mercedes 68 Ford Terino, 34 Dodge, a Ford truck and a Jeep. The Nissan won 3rd place, the el Camino won 2nd place and the Terino won 1st place for the People’s Choice. All in all another nice day sitting around visiting with each other. July 21, 2023 I should have added this picture with the previous post of the “Forget Me Not” Community Fair. It shows the dedication and metal of your club members and officers. We were pretty chilly at this show and the wind really blew but we persevered. And the organizers of the community fair were very happy with us. July 7, 2023 Klassic Kruz & Swap Meet 2023. Had a nice car show and swap meet Saturday at Alaska Raceway Park for our Klassic Kruz. We had around 40 vehicles show up but only 24 registered. I stood up on the tower and took pictures and counted 35 cars and saw several others come in later. Swap meet wise I was very happy with the turn out. We had probably around 7 people set up to sell parts so that wasn’t too bad for our first time. I have been to smaller ones in Alaska. “Exquisite Urban Tastes” was the food truck at the show. It was very windy. Sunny but windy and cars seemed to come and go. We shut down a little early and gave out the trophies at around 3:30 because so many had already left. Remember unless you ask someone to accept your trophy for you, you must be present to win. Saturdays Winners were 3rd Place People’s Choice 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk, 2nd Place People’s Choice 1966 Chevelle and 1st Place People’s Choice 1965 El Camino. May 17, 2023
