Emily Davenport Obituary
Emily B. Davenport, age 82, passed away peacefully at home with her loved ones on June 10, 2026.
Born on May 26, 1944, in Conway/Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Emily was the youngest of nine children born to William Bratcher and Blanch Bratcher-Floyd. She carried the strength, determination, and resilience that came from growing up in a large family and remained a vibrant force throughout her life.
Emily is survived by her loving spouse of 42 years, Larry J. Hill; her children, Eddie Boyd, Veronica Snell, Robin Kannasto, Brandy Foley, and Cheri Anderson; as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved fur babies, Si and Charlie, who brought her endless joy and companionship.
She was preceded in death by sons, Greg Lewis and Larry (Butch) Hill II and daughter Lidia Binder.
Emily loved her family with all her heart. Her children, grandchildren, and beloved pets were the center of her world. She was full of life and energy, strong-willed, hardworking, and never afraid to speak her mind. Emily had a wonderful sense of humor and a unique way with words. If you thought she was joking, chances were she meant exactly what she said.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening, especially tending to her favorite flowers, irises and lilies. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, playing games, watching wrestling, cooking, and spending time with those she loved most. Her laughter, stories, and spirited personality could brighten any room, and her presence left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Emily was a truly special woman who was loved by many. There are countless wonderful things that could be said about her, and it is impossible to capture the full measure of the love, strength, wisdom, and joy she brought to the lives of others. Her memory will live on through the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the many lives she touched.
Though she will be deeply missed, Emily's love, laughter, and legacy will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
