Had our annual car show yesterday Sunday July 2nd 2023 at Country Cutts.  Had a pretty large turnout even though the weather was VERY windy and overcast.  For the few seconds when the wind did stop it was really quite warm.  We had 46 Vehicles registered and there were several vehicles who came and went and didn’t sign in so I think all toll there were around 50 showing.  Exquisite Urban Taste and Crazy 4 Dayz were the food trucks that were there serving their tasty food. Stan gave away 5 trophies. Gent’s Choice was a 1960 Corvair, Ladies Choice was a 1953 Buick Roadmaster, Kids Choice was a 1929 Ford A (Spidey), Drivers Choice was 1968 Mustang California Special and the People’s Choice was a 1965 Chevy El Camino. Stan also had a drawing for several hundred dollars’ worth of $50.00 and $100.00 Chevron Gift Cards.  Good turn out and even though it was not a perfect summer day I think everyone who was there had a good time as usual.

Saturday June 24th, 2023, we had our second annual “Art Keller Memorial Car Show” at the Freedom Family Festival at the VFW in Eagle River. It turned out to be a beautiful day and there was no wind or rain so that was nice for a change this summer. Seems like the last few car shows have been really plagued by wind. We had around 33 vehicles show up and the winner of the plaque was a1968 Camaro RS. Beautiful Car. Here are a few pictures.

Continue ReadingSaturday June 24th, 2023, we had our second annual “Art Keller Memorial Car Show” at the Freedom Family Festival at the VFW in Eagle River. It turned out to be a beautiful day and there was no wind or rain so that was nice for a change this summer. Seems like the last few car shows have been really plagued by wind. We had around 33 vehicles show up and the winner of the plaque was a1968 Camaro RS. Beautiful Car. Here are a few pictures.

I should have added this picture with the previous post of the “Forget Me Not” Community Fair. It shows the dedication and metal of your club members and officers. We were pretty chilly at this show and the wind really blew but we persevered. And the organizers of the community fair were very happy with us.

We had a Car show today at the “Forget Me Not” Community Fair out on Inner Springer Loop at the SDA Church and Amazing Grace Acadamy. There were not many of us there as this show clashed with the Colony Days Show I know, but we had committed to this show back in March before we found out that Colony Days was switching to Sunday, and they had already done advertising that the 49th State Street Rudders would be having a car show at their event so we didn’t feel it would be fair to cancel. Even though it was WINDY, and the sun came and went those of us who were there had a good time as usual, and we obtained 2 new members to the club. 3rd Place People’s Choice was a 1969 Chevy Nova, 2nd Place People’s Choice was a 1969 El Camino and 1st Place People’s Choice was a 1965 El Camino. It was a blue sweep since all three vehicles were blue.

Klassic Kruz & Swap Meet 2023. Had a nice car show and swap meet Saturday at Alaska Raceway Park for our Klassic Kruz. We had around 40 vehicles show up but only 24 registered. Continue ReadingKlassic Kruz & Swap Meet 2023. Had a nice car show and swap meet Saturday at Alaska Raceway Park for our Klassic Kruz. We had around 40 vehicles show up but only 24 registered. Saturdays Winners were 3rd Place People’s Choice 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk, 2nd Place People’s Choice 1966 Chevelle and 1st Place People’s Choice 1965 El Camino.

Well, folks as the weekend comes to a close so does the first car show of the season the “Valley Chrome & Wheel” show at the MTA Event Center and Ice Rink.  It sure was a great show.  If I do say so my self one of our best.  We started out with 55 vehicles registered, 8 had to drop out and they were replaced with 7 more so we ended up with 54 final count.  I can’t tell you the final count of those who came through our show yet but I had printed up 1,000 ballots for the weekend, printed 500 more on Saturday night and Sunday we ran out and started using post it notes and gave out a pad and a half of those.  So, there were a lot of people.  Our two Food Trucks scheduled showed up “Mamaw and Pops Hillbilly Cooking” and “Exquisite Urban Tastes” so we had plenty of good food for those who were hungry.  The City of Palmer besides giving us a grant to use the building for our show put us on the shuttle line so people could stop by and check us out on their way to the Air Show and other activities going on in Downtown Palmer the weekend.  I want to thank everyone who made this show possible from those who worked tirelessly at it and their poor spouses and partners who coped with us while we did down to the guys who swept the parking lot so gravel didn’t hit our beautiful rides driving in and out.  We thank you, thank you, thank you. Here are some pictures of the winners. Good food always makes the car show better. Here are some pictures one of our members took of the nice full arena. Tomorrow, Sunday May 7th is our last day, and we are open from 10:00am to 4:00pm. We will be giving out all of our trophies at around 3:45 so don’t miss seeing all these beautiful vehicles.
