We had a really nice car show yesterday (Saturday May 23rd) at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Palmer. The weather wasn’t fantastic, but it didn’t rain on us even though there were reports of it in the area around us. It was a little on the breezy side but not too bad and the temperature was in the lower 50’s. We had 40 vehicles registered but there were many more that either drove through or came and parked for a while but didn’t register and left before the end of the show. O’Reilly gave away 3 buckets of supplies as well as all there give aways to the crowd the trophies for the show. There is a new manager at the store in Palmer this year. Derick, and I want to thank him for all his help. It was his first time doing the show and he did a great job as well as all his employees who helped. The winners were 3rd Place People’s Choice 1955 International Truck, 2nd Place People’s Choice 1950 Chevy Deluxe and 1st Place People’s Choice 1955 Nash Metropolitan.
I was blessed and at the end of the show before the trophies were given out the club members and attendees of the last few shows got together and gave me a card and gift certificate to RC Detailing in recognition of my role as secretary and my van that hauls all the stuff to each of the shows. And those who help set up and tear down after each show know there is a lot of stuff in the back of that van. Thank you all so much you are all fantastic and I love what I do with the car club.
