Had a nice car show and swap meet Saturday at Alaska Raceway Park for our Klassic Kruz. We had around 40 vehicles show up but only 24 registered. I stood up on the tower and took pictures and counted 35 cars and saw several others come in later. Swap meet wise I was very happy with the turn out. We had probably around 7 people set up to sell parts so that wasn’t too bad for our first time. I have been to smaller ones in Alaska. “Exquisite Urban Tastes” was the food truck at the show. It was very windy. Sunny but windy and cars seemed to come and go. We shut down a little early and gave out the trophies at around 3:30 because so many had already left. Remember unless you ask someone to accept your trophy for you, you must be present to win. Saturdays Winners were 3rd Place People’s Choice 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk, 2nd Place People’s Choice 1966 Chevelle and 1st Place People’s Choice 1965 El Camino. May 17, 2023 Assisted Living Cruise By Thank You September 20, 2021 Had a really nice day today July 8th, 2023 at the Lowe’s Car Show in Wasilla. Great turn out. We had 48 registered vehicles and several that didn’t sign in. I think maybe close to 60 showed up. Our biggest car show so far this summer. I try really hard to get people to at least register. They don’t need to put a card in the window if they don’t want anyone to vote for them although they should because I always have people come to me wanting to vote for a specific car, but it has no number or tag on it for them to vote. I think for future shows when I say it cost nothing to show I will say but you must register. It also helps for next year’s shows when I am trying to figure out supplies, I need for a show as to how many are going to possibly show up. It helps with our sponsorship too to let O’Reilly know how many vehicles participate in our shows. The weather was really lovely. Overcast so not to warm but NO Wind thankfully. Alaska’s Best Gourmet Dogs was the food truck with their delicious dogs. Our three trophy winners were 3rd Place 1974 VW Thing, first time at our show, 2nd Place was a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe, a new club member and 1st Place was 1968 Camaro RS. Lowe’s gave the three trophy winners $50.00 Gift Cards. I think everyone had a great day. July 8, 2023
