DESCRIPTION:This coming Saturday July 15th\, 2023 we will be having a car show at the Palmer Senior Center 1132 S. Chugach St.  Palmer\, AK 99645.  “Cars & Crafts” the event is from 10:00am to 4:00Pm but the car show runs from our usual hours from 11:00 to 3:00. Of course\, we will be giving out trophies for the Peoples 3 favorite vehicles.  The senior center is having a dessert auction\, split the pot\, a children’s activity area\, vendors\, and the gift shop will be open.  They will also have hot dogs and chips available.  The weather is supposed to be on the warmer side and doesn’t look like there will be rain so come on out and enjoy the day with us and the Palmer Senior Center.

DESCRIPTION:Jane Ann Aldrich \n\n\n\nJane Ann Aldrich left her earthly life September 3\, 2022\, at Maple Springs Wasilla\, after a three-month battle with aggressive glioblastoma brain cancer. \n\n\n\nJane Ann was born in Eureka\, Kansas\, on November 20\, 1947\, to Carl David Aldrich and Mary Jane McMahan Aldrich. She graduated from Borger High School and went on to attend Oklahoma State University where she earned a degree in education. She moved to Alaska in 1970 and began her teaching career. Jane Ann taught in Kenai\, Anchorage and Mat-Su. She retired in 2005 after almost forty years in the classrooms. She was an exemplary teacher and students have fond memories of their time in her classroom. Jane Ann was a member of the 49th State Street Rodders Club\, Cook Inlet Kennel Club\, and Journey Church. You could find her at a car show most summer Saturdays showing Tillie\, her 1938 Chevy Coupe. If she wasn’t at a car show she was walking one of her beloved shih-tzus. She owned many over the years; Peanuts\, Roce\, Tucker\, Missy May and her most recent addition to the pack\, Ellie. She was a willing participant in many hobbies and crafts: gardening\, alcohol ink painting\, fused glass\, cross stitch\, pottery\, macramé\, knitting\, and beading\, but she drew the line when introduced to copper enamel. The blow torch was more than she could handle. \n\n\n\nJane Ann was predeceased by her mother\, father and brother\, Carl David Aldrich Jr. She is survived by life partner\, of more than thirty years\, John Holcomb of Wasilla\, Alaska\, and his children\, grandchildren\, and great grandchildren\, sister-in-law\, Sue Anne\, of Grand Junction\, Colorado\, nieces: Kimberlee and husband\, Scott of Dallas\, Texas\, Dava Sue and husband\, Orrin of Grand Junction\, Colorado\, and Kristina Lewis of Fletcher\, Oklahoma\, four grand nieces\, two grand nephews\, three great-grand nieces. \n\n\n\nJane Ann loved her family and friends! She was always kind and generous to others. She will be greatly missed. \n\n\n\nA memorial service will be held on Saturday\, October 15\, 2022\, 2:00 PM\, at Mat-Su Evangelical Church\, 5201 E. Mayflower Lane\, Wasilla\, Alaska. Refreshments to follow. \n\n\n\nDonation may be made to your local animal rescue\, or cancer research.

DESCRIPTION:This is a 49th State Street Rodder Event. \n\n\n\nIt’s that time of year again for our annual 9/11 “Freedom Flag Run” Memorial Car Show. Our show will run as usual with everyone meeting up at Wasilla High School around 9:30 AM and decorating their cars with flags and other memorabilia. Then around 10:30 or 11 AM they will cruise over to Alaska Raceway Park taking a detour along the way off of Bogard Road down Hemmer to drive through the parking lots of both Tranquility Manor Assisted Living and Maple Springs. Then back on to Bogard to come out to the racetrack for the Car Show from noon to 4:00PM.This show we will be having 4 Trophies. People’s Choice 1st\, 2nd and 3rd as well as People’s Choice Motorcycle.Stella’s Food truck will be there and Exquisite Urban Tastes.As with any of our bigger car shows pre-registration helps a lot in making the registration line move fast. DESCRIPTION:This is a 49th State Street Rodders Car Show.  In downtown Palmer\, Alaska.  Saturday August 13th\, 2022\, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Colony Way and in the Friday Fling Parking area.  Extra parking will be at the Library and Visitors Center if needed.  We have use of the Pavillion so that is where we will have the registration.  Please make sure you register even if you don’t want anyone to vote on your vehicle and want to just show it.  We like to have an accurate count of vehicles for the city.  If you want to pre-register and bypass the line of people registering just email or message me your make\, model and the years of your vehicles and I will have everything ready to go for you when you get there.  Pre-registering will close at noon on the 13th. \n\n\n\nWe are planning on having the DJ who usually does the Colony Days car show and Exquisite Urban Tastes is the scheduled Food Truck.   There may be more since it is open to anyone who has a Palmer license.  \n\n\n\nThere is also a possibility that the Governor may be signing a bill at the car show.  They contacted me earlier in the summer about it but haven’t gotten back to me if the Governor is going to be able to attend that date. \n\n\n\nAs always with 49th State Street Rodders Car Shows admission and participation is free. \n\n\n\nHope to see you all there.
